A participant said that the dispute flared up due to dissatisfaction over the claims of many aspirants in the selection of general convention representatives, the nomination process, and the district-level balance.
Although a total of 46 representatives will be elected in UML Morang, internal tension has increased after the number of nominations tripled.
Security personnel were deployed after the incident to normalize the situation. The party leadership has indicated that it will conduct an internal review of the incident and take action.
