The Disciplinary Committee has decided to take action against the President of Civil Liberation Party, Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary. One of the founding central members said that the decision was taken at the meeting of the committee held on Tuesday.
On Sunday, the majority central members' meeting decided to ask Chairman Shrestha Chaudhary for an explanation within 24 hours. The member said that it was decided to take action after Chairman Shrestha Chaudhary did not explain. Even before asking for an explanation, the majority of the central members gave an 'ultimatum' of 24 hours on Friday the 9th to call the central committee meeting to Chairman Shrestha Choudhary, who was dragged into the investigation of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission in the case of land embezzlement. But the president Shrestha Chaudhary did not listen.
According to party leaders, the three-member disciplinary committee has Ramlal Dagaura Tharu as coordinator, Punna Bahadur Budha and Sunita Chaudhary as members. Sunita Chaudhary is currently in jail in Kanchanpur in the case of financial irregularities.
Sunday's meeting also decided to organize a national meeting for Wednesday. Accordingly, Alok Chowdhury, the founder central member, said that the Civil Liberation Party is currently meeting. According to him, the founding central members and elected public representatives are members of the assembly. "The action will be discussed in the meeting and it will be decided who will be appointed as the executive chairman," Chowdhury said.
President Shrestha Chaudhary has been involved in the embezzlement of the land of litchi garden in Batulechaur, Pokhara. She appointed Shiv Bastola as acting president on Saturday. After Bastola was given the responsibility of acting, the internal conflict of the party became more heated.
Bastola's name is not included in the 21-member central committee, including the chairman, which was formed according to the statute submitted to the Election Commission when the Civil Immunity was formed. Bastola said that he was nominated as a senior leader on 24 June 2008 in accordance with the provisions of the party's constitution to nominate three people as senior leaders. Article 20 of the statute has provisions regarding senior leaders.
Party patron Resham Chaudhary and his wife President Shrestha have been in conflict for a long time.
