In coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Israel and Egypt, Dr. Pokharel was rescued and brought to Egypt. Sushil Kumar Lamsal, the Nepalese ambassador to Egypt, reached Israel and Egypt's Eilat-Tawa crossing to receive him. This port is about 420 km away from Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
He will be sent to Kathmandu on Tuesday from Sarm Ali Sheikh International Airport located in Sarm Ali Sheikh city of Egypt.
'I traveled by bus from Tel Aviv at 7:30 in the morning . It took 5 hours to arrive at the Egyptian border . It took an hour to cross the border . I had no problem crossing the border into Egypt . With the coordination of the embassy, the exit and entry were easily achieved, Dr. Pokharel told Kantipur, "I was not uncomfortable at all."
He thanked Israel and the Nepali Embassy in Egypt for their role in the rescue.
Lamsal, the Nepalese ambassador to Egypt, said that he learned from this rescue. This is the first rescue. This has opened the way for us to facilitate the rescue of Nepalis coming from Israel,' Ambassador Lamsal said, 'Whoever wants Nepali rescue, we should be informed in advance.'
