The 62nd annual report of the Auditor General has pointed out that local people's representatives arbitrarily took benefits from government funds.
It was found that officials and members of the local level have availed the facilities in terms of clothing facilities, cooking facilities, house rent, hospitality, transportation, fuel etc. It is mentioned in the report that 14.5 million rupees were spent for that.
Even though it is stipulated in the Act on the benefits of local officials and members, it is mentioned that 13 local level people's representatives have taken 1.296 thousand 12 lakhs for festival expenses and 12.8 million for clothing facilities.
Similarly, 77 local levels have spent 50.7 million rupees on transportation expenses, which is different from what is mentioned in the law, and it is said that they have taken fuel facilities of 35.7 million rupees, which is more than what is mentioned in the law. It has been pointed out that people's representatives have spent an additional 1 crore 45 lakh 68 thousand rupees on various topics. It has been found that 2 crore 52 lakh has been spent on food, house rent, hospitality etc.
