The 62nd annual report of the Auditor General has pointed out that the recall of ambassadors with the change of government will cause additional expenses to the state.

It has been mentioned that the state fund incurred an additional expenditure of Rs.

The government recalled ambassadors from India, the US, and the UK. Those ambassadors were recalled after Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal left the Nepali Congress and formed a government with the help of CPN-UML.

According to the Auditor General's report, 13 crore 96 thousand rupees were spent on insurance, 12 crore 24 lakh 43 thousand rupees on air tickets and 48 lakh 30 thousand rupees on transportation expenses because the ambassadors of 13 countries were recalled before the deadline.

In Section 8(a) of the Ambassador Appointment Guideline, 2075, the tenure of the ambassador is 4 years from the date of appearance on the mission. However, with the change of government in a short period of time, the practice of recalling ambassadors and sending new ones has increased the financial liability of the state treasury, it is mentioned in the report.
