Prime Minister's request to increase investment in the field of information and communication technology

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged foreign investors to invest in the field of information and technology as infrastructure such as roads and electricity have been developed in Nepal.

On the occasion of the National Information and Communication Technology Day, 2082, in a program organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology today, Prime Minister Oli asked Nepal to work with the mindset of 'one step forward every day' in order to make Nepal modern and technological.

He opined that more achievements should be achieved by expanding the right to use information and communication technology for good governance, development and easy service delivery in the country.

Prime Minister Oli said, 'Our country is fertile and vibrant. There is a lot of investment potential here. Let us work with the confidence that we can do something in our time. Our journey will definitely move forward. The use of information and technology is increasing in every field including education. In order to end the situation of 52 percent students failing SEE, classes on important subjects were conducted through 'online' from last year as a personal initiative. Such work should be encouraged so that the future of the students is not in darkness.'

Prime Minister Oli stressed on the need to maintain a 'data' system with its own security, and commented that the development of information technology is the answer for those who say that the situation has not changed after the change in the system.

He said, 'We have come a long way from the situation where we need the minister's recommendation to get a telephone line. Attempts to send their own 'satellites' into space have begun. A new generation of celebrities has been prepared in this field. Let us move forward with confidence. Emphasis should be placed on producing and training more skilled manpower in the field of information technology. Now, for the prosperity of the country, information and communication technology should be expanded and used for development and good governance among the people of every corner. We should be aware of the tendency to take respect from people by misusing information and technology.' In the

program, Prime Minister Oli launched the process of linking the driver's license (license) and vehicle owner's certificate (bluebook) to the citizen app of the Bagmati province government.

Prada Sashidhar Ram Joshi and various individuals and organizations were awarded with the National Information Technology Award on the occasion.
