The federation submitted a memorandum from all over the country against the killing of journalists

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists has submitted a memorandum to the government from all over the country on Monday, protesting against the killing of journalists and the well-planned attacks on the media.

The federation has demanded action against those involved in the murder of journalist Suresh Rajak and has also demanded immediate relief to his family.

The Central Committee of the Federation met the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar in Kathmandu on Monday and submitted a memorandum expressing regret over the well-planned attack on the monarchy supporters on Friday. The state committees have submitted a memorandum to the home minister of the state government, while the district branches have submitted a memorandum to the government through the chief district officer and demanded to ensure freedom of the press. 

Federation Acting President Deepak Acharya, Vice President Umid Bagchand and General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal reached the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday morning and handed over the memorandum to the minister. General Secretary Dahal informed that the protestors of journalist Rajak who was working at the workplace had conspired to kill him in a fire.

Federation has drawn attention for the treatment of injured journalists. The federation has been holding various protest programs since Saturday, demanding that the culprits be investigated and brought to justice.
