The government is ready to answer the issue of Kulman Ghising being removed from the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority. However, according to the demands of the opposition parties, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself did not appear and give an answer, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bertaula informed.
In the meeting with Chief Whip Bertaula, Prime Minister Oli said that even if the government answers, he will not speak. Bertaula, who met Prime Minister Oli after the meeting between Speaker Devraj Ghimire and chief whips, says, 'We will raise the matter on behalf of the government . The government responds to the issues raised in the House. According to the opposition, there is no telling who will come or not, who will speak and who will not speak. It does not mean that the PM will not come to the House. There is no possibility that the Prime Minister will come to the House now regarding the removal of Kulman. But the government answers it .'
The opposition parties have been demanding that Prime Minister Oli himself should come to the House and give an explanation about this, saying that it was decided to remove Kulman from the Cabinet meeting. They have even taken a stand to block the House until the Prime Minister answers.
Meanwhile, the writ submitted by Kulman saying that he was illegally removed has been registered in the Supreme Court . Ghising filed a petition against the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and the Nepal Electricity Authority, alleging that he was removed illegally.
The cabinet meeting on Monday removed Kulman and appointed Hitendradev Shakya as the executive director of the authority. The opposition party blocked the meeting of both houses of the federal parliament over the issue of Kulman's dismissal.
