In the English New Year 2024, the game of making and breaking power alliances intensified in Nepal. The major political parties, Congress, UML and Maoists, were engaged in the game of overthrowing each other from power.
When the Maoist Center with 32 seats in the House of Representatives tried to use "magic", it had to go to the streets from power. Maoist Chairman and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who was in alliance with the Congress in the last general election, won 32 seats and his dream of becoming the Prime Minister did not come true until the 2084 election. Congress and UML took him to the streets, who was taking a 'right-left' policy for the Prime Minister.
On March 4, 2024, the then Prime Minister Dahal joined hands with the UML saying that Congress ministers were reluctant to work and would form the basis of left unity in the long run. Dahal, who had agreed to become Prime Minister alternately with Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, broke the cooperation for about 14 months and formed an alliance with UML.
At that time, Dahal's finance minister Prakasharan Mahat refused to allocate the necessary funds to manage the ex-combatants. Deuba said publicly that he was betrayed by Dahal after breaking cooperation with the Congress. It was a reunion of UML and Maoists. After Oli and Dahal formed an alliance on March 4, they wore the rattan of left-wing unity .
Dahal was more excited after forming an alliance of National Independent Party with UML and Maoists. He also claimed that this alliance will last until the election of 084 . Dahal went so far as to say that the magic of 32 in the House of Representatives of the Maoists lasts for the entire term . But when Congress-UML agreed to form the government on July 2, Dahal, who had never imagined that the first and second largest parties of Nepal, Congress and UML, got a cold shower in the winter season.
Congress President Deuba and Prime Minister and UML President KP Sharma agreed to lead the government for half the term and amend the constitution. After the formation of the government of the first and second largest parties in the House of Representatives, the Maoist center took to the streets. After reaching the status of the main opposition, UML Oli became the Prime Minister for the fourth time on July 14. After being supported by Congress, UML, Janmaat, Unmukti, Democratic Socialists, the Oli government is close to two-thirds . But Oli's rapture is not the same as before .
The main opposition party Maoist Center has been accusing the government of stopping the good governance and anti-corruption campaign launched by its leadership. Like the CPN government, the Oli government as a powerful prime minister in terms of the parliament's mathematics has not been able to move forward effectively.
With the formation of the Congress-UML alliance, there was an upheaval in the seven provincial governments. The provincial government formed by the Congress, Maoist, and Unified Socialist Alliance collapsed and became the Congress, UML, Janmat, and Unmukti coalition government. During this period, the provincial government became the most unstable.

In August, the major parties that spent time building and dismantling the government managed to conclude the rest of the peace process. It was an important task to complete this work which had not been done for 18 years. President Ramchandra Paudel has approved the bill which was passed by the parliament by the ruling party and the opposition. The appointment of officials in the investigation and truth-telling commission of missing persons is in the process.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited China in the first week of December and signed an agreement on the much talked about Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) framework. But even though his visit to India was discussed from time to time, it did not happen.
After three months, Oli, who wanted to visit India, was not invited, he went on a visit to North Chhimek China . Compromising on the ambitious BRI framework put forward by China made sense in itself.
In December, after informal two-day talks between high officials of Nepal and China in Beijing, the 'BRI Cooperation Framework' was finally signed during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to China. Along with this, it is now confirmed that Nepal will officially proceed with BRI, which was initiated by China and signed in 2017. The BRI framework has a provision to take loans and grants as per requirement .

Rawal was expelled from the party while Pandey and Timsena were suspended for 6 months.
