The Maoists have won the vice-chairmanship of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality of Rukum East by defeating the candidate of the ruling coalition. Maoist's Narpura Budha won the vice-chairmanship of this municipality, which had been won by Maoists before. Defeating the Congress-UML alliance became a matter of prestige for the Maoists rather than preserving their original position.

In Putha Uttarganga, UML's Keshkumari Tulachan became the candidate with the Congress tree symbol. UML accepted the election symbol of Congress because it was afraid that the votes of the Congress would not be converted to the Sun symbol to break the stronghold of Maoists. After defeating the Congress-UM coalition candidate single-handedly, the Maoists have made it a matter of prestige.

Maoist won in Gramthan Rural Municipality of Morang by breaking the legacy of Congress. After Namonarayan Majhi of Maoist defeated Balram Sardar of Congress, Maoist President Pushpa Kamal Dahal was excited and went to congratulate the MP of that area Amanlal Modi and Majhi who won.

Devaka Lamichhane of Maoist has been elected in Jajarkot Nalgad after defeating Congress candidate Indrachand Singh. He has also retained the post of Vice President of Sarkegad Rural Municipality of Humla, which he won earlier. After the 2079 local level elections, out of 44 vacant positions at various levels (district coordinator, chief, deputy chief and ward president), 8 positions won by the Maoists became vacant. Maoist has won 11 seats including one president, three deputy presidents and 7 ward presidents.

While the voter's criticism of the Maoists is increasing due to the continuous lust for power, the Maoists have been excited after winning two more by-elections, the chairman in Gramthan of Morang and the deputy chief in Nalgad. In the last local elections, the Maoists won 121 out of 753 municipalities and came third.

With the results of the by-elections, Maoist Chairman Dahal has said a 'positive message'. "This by-election has increased confidence in the party and has given a positive message for the coming days," Dahal said in a discussion with the secretariat members on Monday evening.

Maoist Deputy General Secretary Varshman Pun said that while Congress and UML are trying to bring in a two-party political system, Maoist has been confirmed as an indispensable force. "This is the answer given by the people to the Congress-UML leader's plan to bring a two-party political system," he said, "Maoist is the indispensable power of this country." He said that even when he fought the election alone, the people defeated the Maoists. "The result of this vote proved wrong that the Maoists who came out of the government will be eliminated," he said. He believes that the work done in favor of social justice and prosperity has awakened hope in the people. He said that he will review the reasons for losing in the places he won in the past in the next meeting.

Political analyst Shyam Shrestha said that there are signs that the base of Maoists has collapsed. If the Maoists were in power, it would have been difficult to get votes in these places. The mandate of the by-elections has given a message to stay out of power and form an organization," he said. "It seems that the Maoists have a support base." When he contested the election alone, although there were problems in the leadership of the Maoists, it seems that the base is still alive. "Maoist has sent a message that the top should be corrected, the base is not damaged, but the top is damaged," he added.

In the last local elections, Congress won the post of Deputy Chief in Jajarkot Nalgad Municipality. Similarly, the Chairman of Gramthan Rural Municipality of Morang has been taken away from the Congress by the Maoists. Maoists have won the Rukum East Putha Uttarganga vice-chairmanship by defeating the Congress-UML alliance.

In the by-elections at the local level, the Maoists have won in place of the Congress in Triyuga Municipality-12 Udaipur. Dhanushadham Municipality-1 Dhanusha Maoist has wrested it from Congress. Similarly, Maoist defeated Congress in Kakani Papa-2 Nuwakot, while Maoist won by defeating UML in Gorkha Municipality-5. Maoists were unopposed in Putha Gapa-2 Rukum East. Maoists have defeated UML in Tripurasundari Municipality-5 Dolpa.

Maoist has won 6 wards in the past and added one ward president this time. Maoists have taken this as a positive message.

RSVP in Kathmandu-16

RSVP has won the chairmanship of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16. With this victory, RSVP has also participated in local government.

In the local level by-elections, the RSVP got disappointing votes in most places and won in Kathmandu-16. RSVP nominated 26 out of 41 posts. Elsewhere, RSVP got very few votes. In most cases, the RSVP could not even save the bail.

Rosina Shrestha, the candidate of RSVP for the post of President of Kathmandu-16, has won by getting 2 thousand 902 votes. UML candidate Lakshmiratna Tuladhar came second with 2,220 votes, while Congress candidate Devendra Pathak came third with 2,214 votes. Meen Bahadur Manandhar of S got 651 votes and Shyamakrishna Shrestha of RPP got 622 votes while independent candidate Devendra Kumar Shrestha got 314 votes.

In the local elections of 2079, the Congress won in Kathmandu 16. Congress candidate Mukund Rizal got 4 thousand 19 votes while UML's Lakshmiratna Tuladhar got 3 thousand 310 votes. Rizal was a candidate from the then ruling coalition Congress and Maoists.

RSWP has interpreted this victory as people's dissatisfaction with the old parties, the people's vote against the misrule of the ruling parties along with the trust in politics that the RSWP has instilled in the people. Ganesh Parajuli, coordinator of the local level sub-election central coordination committee of the RSVP, said that the victory obtained in Kathmandu-16 was a 'change of vote' by conscious and independent voters. Parajuli, who is also a Member of Parliament from Representative Assembly Constituency No. 7 in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, said that conscious people have elected candidates who will serve with honor after paying taxes.
