Congress has won the chairmanship of Ward No. 12 of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city of Makwanpur. Congress candidate Arjun Prasad Tiwari was elected in the local by-election held on Sunday for the chairmanship of Hetaunda ward number 12.

According to the election results released by the Election Commission on Monday morning, Congress candidate Tiwari won by getting 2,063 votes. 

In the election of the chairman of Hetaunda 12, the candidate of the Maoist center, Ravikumar Pradhan, who came second, got 1,560 votes, while the candidate of UML, Rajesh Nagarkoti, who came third, got 1,398 votes. 

Prem Bahadur Bholan, the RP candidate for Hetaunda 12, got 178 votes, Ashavir Bal of RAS 83, Balaram Bal of the United Samajwadi Party got 73 votes.  

There were a total of 8 thousand 53 voters in this ward  . 1 thousand 588 voters were added in the by-election compared to the local level elections of 2079. 

There are 12 candidates for the post of Ward President  were Out of which nine candidates were from different parties and three were independent candidates.
