A UML candidate has been elected as the chairman of Suddhodhan rural municipality ward number 1 of Kapilvastu.
In the local by-elections held on Sunday, UML candidate Mohammad Tahir Muslim was elected as the president of Suddhodhan Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, according to the Election Commission.
Dinesh Kumar Yadav of the Congress, the closest rival of the UML candidate, received 1,076 votes.
Similarly, Sitaram Patel Kurmi of Janmat Party has got 423 votes and Ram Bahadur Kurmi Chaudhary of Jaspa Nepal has got 341 votes .
According to the Election Commission, Rafi Mohammad Muslim, the candidate of the Maoist Center, got 138 votes, while Ashok Kumar Choudhary of RSVP got 92 votes, RPP candidate Intaz Ahmed Dhowi got 66 votes and Suryakumar Chaudhary Tharu, the candidate of civil liberties, got 33 votes .
