The then vice president of Gorkha Media Network and former DIG Chabilal Joshi was brought to Butwal on Monday for a statement regarding the misappropriation of funds of Supreme Cooperative. Joshi, who is in Pokhara police custody during the investigation, was brought from Pokhara to Butwal by ship on Monday.
According to Rupandehi Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Khanal, Joshi has been presented to the public prosecutor's office on Monday. However, the statement will be from Tuesday . "We have submitted him to the public prosecutor's office today, but the statement will start only from tomorrow," she said, "because the case is from Butwal, he has been kept in the local police office."
It has been seen that nearly 150 million sums have been deposited in the account of Gorkha Media Network from the Supreme Multi-Purpose Cooperative Organization of Butwal. Out of that, 2 crores were in the name of Ravi Lamichhane, the then managing director of the Gorkha Media Network, 25 million rupees in the name of Chhavilal Joshi, 45 million rupees in the name of Gorkha Media, 156 million rupees in the name of the joint general minister of RASWP Bipin Kumar Acharya, 30 million rupees in the name of Bhupendrababu Rai. 30 lakh and 14 crore 29 lakh 36 thousand rupees amounting to 1 crore 3 lakh 36 thousand rupees in the name of Kumar Ramtel and it has been seen from the investigation.
Joshi was arrested from Kathmandu on October 6th during the implementation of the recommendations of the parliamentary investigation special committee led by Surya Thapa, a member of the House of Representatives. Immediately after his arrest, he was taken to Pokhara for investigation and statement. Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Pandit of the local police office said that Joshi was brought to Butwal and taken into custody and the statement will begin at the public prosecutor's office from Tuesday. "How long will the statement be and where will it be sent to?" he said.
