The government has set a target of constructing temporary housing for the citizens who have become homeless due to floods and inundation by the middle of October.

The meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has set the goal of constructing temporary housing for the people affected by floods and landslides by the end of October.

 Associate Secretary of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Vasant Adhikari informed that the meeting decided to proceed with the deadline for reconstruction, rehabilitation and construction of temporary housing . According to him, the meeting approved the decision to declare 71 crisis areas recommended by the executive committee meeting.

Similarly, the executive committee has also approved the recommendations made by the executive committee to divide those local levels into three groups of highly affected, affected and moderately affected and give 1 million to the most affected, 75 million to the affected and 5 million to the moderately affected.  He informed that the meeting decided that the essential services should be completed within 15 days and the construction of temporary housing should be completed by the end of Kartik. Likewise, it has been decided to immediately complete the Detailed Damage Assessment (DDA) and proceed with the construction of permanent housing. The

meeting now requires the local level, state government and all agencies to coordinate with the disaster authority. After the 13th National Council meeting after October 2080 The joint secretary officer informed that it has been decided to cover all the issues of disaster and then reconstruction and rehabilitation and the local level, the state and the federal government should work together.
