1,700 vehicles stranded on the highway have entered the Kathmandu valley after the blocked road was opened at Jhaple in Dhading under Prithvi Highway.

Rishiram Tiwari, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs informed that after the blocked road in Jhaple was opened, vehicles with stranded passengers entered Kathmandu.

According to him, preparations are being made to send vehicles to leave Kathmandu through that route from Monday afternoon. "From today, the vehicles will be leaving from Kathmandu through the Prithvi Highway", he said, "the Ministry of Home Affairs has coordinated with other agencies to operate the main highway as well as other blocked roads."

On Monday afternoon, Home Minister Ramesh Ukhar called a meeting of the Central Security Committee in the ministry. In the meeting, the heads of the security agencies informed about the rescue, relief, treatment of the injured and the opening of blocked roads during the floods, landslides and disasters.

'By this afternoon, all the passengers stranded in the Roshi river under Kavrepalanchok's BP highway have been rescued', Spokesman Tiwari said, 'Now there is a team of security personnel including the Nepali Army rescuing the stranded passengers with the help of ropes and aerial rescue.'

Spokesman Tiwari has appealed to people to be careful while traveling as the weather is not completely stable. 'Opening and opening of blocked roads  It is continuing', he said, 'the risk including landslides is not over yet.'
