Due to continuous rain since Thursday, 37 people have died in Kathmandu Valley. According to police data till Saturday evening, 20 people have died in Lalitpur, 12 in Kathmandu and 5 in Bhaktapur while 20 people are missing.

Kathmandu Valley Police Office has informed that 18 people have been injured due to floods and inundation, while 1,988 people have been rescued.

The villages on the banks of the valley were affected by the floods in Vagmati, Bishnumati, Manohara, Hanumante, Dhobikhola, Balkhu and Nakhkhu rivers. "2,257 houses have been flooded in the valley, 1,340 in Kathmandu, 500 in Lalitpur and 417 in Bhaktapur," said Senior Superintendent of Police of Kathmandu Valley Police Office Vinod Ghimire.

34 people died in Kavre, 14 missing

Due to continuous rain since Thursday night, 33 people died in landslides in various places of Kavre. According to the police, 10 people died in Dhulikhel, Banepa, Panauti, Namobuddha, Bhumlu, 11 in Roshi Rural Municipality and 12 in Temal Rural Municipality. Due to the disruption of electricity and communication services in most areas of the district, the complete details of the damage have not been revealed.

He said that the bodies of 4 people could be recovered by 9 pm on Saturday. 1 person died in Roshi-1, 3 people in Ward 3, 5 people from the same family in Ward 4, 2 people in Ward 9 and 1 person from Ward 10. According to him, 1 person is missing after being buried in a landslide in Roshi-10.

4 people died in Sindhupalchok

4 people lost their lives and 7 people are missing after landslides hit their houses in different places of Sindhupalchok. According to District Police Sindhupalchok, two people have died and one person is missing after a landslide hit the Sindhu Beach Resort in Sunkoshi-4 Chane on Saturday.

Inspector Kiran Lama said that although the bodies of the two deceased were found, they could not be identified. The police said that Trishna Moktan's house in Lishankhupakhar rural municipality-3 was destroyed by a landslide and her son and daughter went missing. Also in Lishankhupakhar-3, former ward president Kazi Bahadur Tamang and wife Suntali Tamang have died. 

10 dead in Koshi, 10 missing

10 people died in Koshi region on Saturday due to landslides. In which there are 6 from Panthchar, 3 from Jhapa and 1 from Morang. 2 people were injured in Dhankuta and 1 in Okhaldhunga.

24-year-old Sapna Sherpa and her 6-year-old daughter Dolma died in a landslide in Fidim-4. Similarly, 82-year-old Paschima Sherpa of Fidim-8 Bhotegaon, 35-year-old Ranjana Rai of Fidim-2 Majite and 50-year-old Gopi Vishwakarma of Fidim-1 Duma have been buried in the landslide, police said.

Srijana Magar was injured in a landslide at Chhatharjorpati-2 in Dhankuta.
