The District Court Kaski has allowed the police to remand former Inspector General (DIG) Chabilal Joshi of Nepal Police, who was arrested in the cooperative fraud case, for 5 days for investigation.

Joshi, who was arrested from Kathmandu on Sunday on charges of misappropriation of Suryadarshan Sahakari's funds to Gorkha Media Network, was taken to Kaski by the same evening ship. Joshi was brought to the court for an extension of time during office hours on Monday as the police arrested him after confiscating essential supplies.

Before the deadline extension, after arguments on behalf of the government lawyer and the accused, the bench of Judge Chandrakant Sharma allowed the detention for 5 days .

Advocates Rochak Joshi, Rohitraj Bastola and Krishna Thapa argued on behalf of Joshi. Accused Joshi also put his words before the bench. During that time, he said that 'I fell into the wrong company, it is not right to take money from the cooperative, I have already left the Gorkha Media Network after changing the shares'.

Among the four directors of Gorkha Media Network, Joshi was the vice president of the board of directors in the initial period. Gitendrababu (GB) Rai was the chairman, Ravi Lamichhane was the managing director and Kumar Ramtel was the member of the board of directors. Out of which Rai is currently absconding, Ramtel is in jail pending trial in the Suryadarshan Cooperative case.
