With the collapse of the alliance formed a year ago to form the federal government, the aftershocks will reach the provinces. Basically, after the exit of the major party in the parliament from the central coalition, the exercise of forming a new government is going to take place in all the provinces, although the process is complicated in some provinces.

It seems that the new alliance will easily get a majority in Koshi. It is not difficult to form a new government as UML has 40 seats, Maoists 13 and Jaspa one seat out of 93 in the state assembly. Koshi has 29 MPs from Congress, 6 from RPP and 4 from S.

UML has 23 seats, Jaspa has 18 seats and Maoist has 9 seats in Madhesh. In this way, this alliance will get only 50 seats in the 107-member provincial assembly. This alliance will need four more seats to form the government. Therefore, the alliance needs the support of at least one of the 7-seat United Socialist Party with 13 seats or the 9-seat LOSPA. Also, the alliance can do the difficult task of collecting 3 independent seats, one of federal socialists, and 3 seats of civil liberties. In Madhesh, Congress has 23 seats and RPP has one seat.

Wagmati now has a Maoist-led government, where the UML has 27 seats and the Maoists 21. A majority of 56 seats is required in the 110-member Wagmati state assembly. Therefore, even if the United Socialists give 7 seats to the coalition, it will be difficult to form a government. Nemkipa (3) and our Nepali Party (2) seats will also be needed here. Congress has 37 seats and RPP has 13 seats in Bagmati, so there is a possibility that they will form the government with some alliance.

Similarly, there is a Congress government in Gandaki. Congress needs a total of 31 seats to save the government in the 60-member Gandaki state assembly.

Here Congress itself has 27 seats while RPP can support in two seats. But even that would be insufficient. In Gandaki, there are 22 MPs from UML, 8 from Maoist and one from United Samawadi. They can also form a government at risk.

Lumbini also has a Congress-led government. Here UML 29, Maoist 11 and Jaspa 3 together can come close to the government with a total of 43 seats. But 44 seats are required to form the government. Janamorcha and S have one seat each. In Lumbini, there are 4 MPs from Unmukti Party, 3 MPs from LOSPA and one is independent.

Karnali has a 40-member state assembly. There is now a Maoist-led government in this province. 13 MPs from Maoists and 10 MPs from UML are enough to save this government. In Karnali, there are 14 MPs from Congress, 1 from RPP, 1 from S and 1 from Independent.

In the 53-member Sudurpaschim province, 27 seats are needed for a majority. Maoist has 11 seats and UML has 21 seats. Civil Liberation Party with 7 seats is decisive to form the government. Resham Choudhary, chairman of Civil Rights Party, said that his party is positive to participate in the government. However, he has asked Dahal and Oli for his party to get a chief minister in Far West.
