Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that protection and implementation of the constitution made under the leadership of the party will be the next course of action. Inaugurating the General Committee meeting on Monday, Chairman Deuba said that the meaningful implementation of the Constitution should be started.

Stating that the constitution was made under the leadership of the Congress in the year 2072, Chairman Deuba said that everyone should work together to protect it.

'The current constitution was made under the leadership of Congress . The federal democratic republic and parliamentary system in the constitution was created in accordance with Congress,' he said, 'the meaningful implementation of the constitution is the main agenda of today . Congress is committed to the protection and implementation of the Constitution. This is also our responsibility .'

President Deuba said that Congress is clear that the proper implementation of the constitution can bring lasting peace, good governance, development and prosperity in the country. Deuba also said that Congress is in favor of necessary amendments to the constitution as it is a dynamic document.

'For the long life of the constitution, it is necessary to establish the acceptance and ownership of the people on the constitution . Constitution should become a matter of people's hope, trust and dignity. 8  It has been a year,' he said, 'the time has come to recognize the problems, complications or ambiguities that appeared during the implementation of the constitution . The process of revising the constitution should be initiated so that there is no adverse effect on the government structure and fundamental issues provided by the constitution.'
