The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been winning in this constituency since 2048. Similarly, in Bhaktapur 2, Rajiv Khatri of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has defeated UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet by double the votes.
Khatri got 3,060 votes and Basnet got 1,573 votes. Kabir Rana of the Nepali Congress (NCP) has got 168 votes. The counting of votes is ongoing, according to the Election Office.
