Flooded evacuation of four schools
Kathmandu Metropolitan City has designated 70 schools as shelters for the people of slums who are at risk of floods. According to Mayor Balendra Shah, 70 schools have been designated as shelters for the time being.
So far, flood-affected families have been relocated to four schools. Affected residents are 251 people living in Jan Vikas School in Kuleshwar, 70 people in Vishwa Niketan in Tripureshwar, 52 people in Guhyeshwari, 20 people in Mahendra Saraswati Basic School in Teku.
The Metropolitan Police Force is working at a fast pace to stop the erosion by putting soil and gravel in sacks where there is erosion in the river. The metropolis has asked everyone not to go near the dangerous places and stay safe.
