Changan's EV plant in Thailand

Chinese carmaker Changan Automobile has officially started manufacturing cars at its first international New Energy Vehicle (NEV) plant in Rayong, Thailand. The car manufacturing plant has crossed an important milestone under the company's 'Vast Ocean Plan' policy.

According to the company, the Rayong plant has modern production, research and development and a long-term supply chain. From where Changan's green and smart car production and global operations will also take place, the company says. According to the statement issued by the company, the sales of the cars produced by this will be in the markets of Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa, Central and South America. The capacity of this plant is currently 100,000 units per year and the company claims that it will reach 200,000 units per year by 2027. Spread over 392,000 square meters, the Rayong plant has five workshops for welding, painting, assembly, engine and battery production. The plant will produce Changan, Deepal and Avtar brand EVs.
