Late Tuesday night, representatives of seven political parties issued a joint statement demanding action against the police officers who lathi-charged the peaceful protest. They have also requested all leaders, cadres and justice-loving people of the constituent parties to participate in the protest at 8 am on Wednesday.
The parties have appealed through the statement to publicly boycott the newly appointed Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav and his cabinet members.
On Tuesday evening, a clash broke out between the police and protesters in front of Madhesh Bhavan. During the clash, the police lathi-charged the protesters. 10 protesters were injured in the clash.
