The District Administration Office, Bardiya, has announced that the Nepal-India border will be sealed from midnight on Falgun 18 to midnight on Falgun 21 in view of the House of Representatives elections. Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal said that during that period, movement through the international border will be completely closed.
Security arrangements have been tightened at the border checkpoint. Similarly, public, private, and government vehicles will be banned from midnight on Falgun 20 to midnight on Falgun 21. However, except for essential vehicles such as fire engines, ambulances, hospitals, health services, telecommunications, electricity, tankers, hearses, diplomatic missions, and vehicles authorized for election purposes, private and public vehicles have been banned, said District Officer Hamal.
Similarly, the sale and consumption of alcohol has been banned from Friday. If anyone acts contrary to this, action will be taken according to the law, said District Officer Hamal.
