Indian liquor worth more than 2 lakh rupees, which was smuggled into Nepal by evading customs, has been seized by the police from the bus park in Butwal.

According to District Police Office Rupandehi, 240 cc of Indian liquor stored in 20 cartons were recovered from the bus park in Butwal sub-metropolis-9 in an abandoned state on Sunday.

Police say that the recovered liquor is worth 240,000 rupees.  DSP Indra Bahadur Rana of Area Police Office Butwal said that the liquor was recovered from a passenger public bus that came to Butwal from Belhia on the border of Rupandehi during regular checking by the police.

There is a legal provision that only companies and firms with excise license can import foreign liquor after paying customs duty.
