Some candidates who contested from Dhankuta in the House of Representatives elections could not even cross 100 votes. Seven candidates, including parties and independents, could not even cross 100 votes. This shows how important a candidate's influence, organization, and access to voters are in an election contest.

The least votes were received by Uttam Shakhakari, the candidate of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party. He received a total of 22 votes from the entire district. Similarly, Sagar Rai of the Mongol National Organization received 82 votes, and Bal Kumar Tamli of the Federal Democratic National Forum received 65 votes.

Prem Bahadur Thapa of the Aam Janata Party received 55 votes. Among the independent candidates, Jitendra Rai received 91 votes and Man Kumar Yonjan received only 56 votes. This time, 17 candidates, including 14 from parties and 3 independents, were in the fray in Dhankuta.

UML's Rajendra Kumar Rai won in Dhankuta by getting 18,132 votes. His nearest competitor, Dinesh Rai of the Nepali Congress, received 14,257 votes. Dhankuta had 64,490 votes.
