Baglung is set to get three women MPs from the proportional representation. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Nepali Congress (NC) and Nepali Congress (NC) have submitted the names of one woman MP each to the Election Commission from the proportional representation. While the names of 57 candidates were selected and sent to the Commission from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), out of 48 women, the name of Chantyal from Baglung has been recommended from the women's and indigenous people's quota. The Congress has recommended the names of 20 proportional representation MPs. Out of 15 women candidates, the name of Kaucha from Baglung has been recommended from the indigenous people's quota, said Harihar Sharma, secretary of the Congress, Baglung. ‘The names of 3 women from Baglung were on the closed list,’ Sharma said, ‘but the party has got a quota of seats from the indigenous peoples’ quota.’
While the NCP is finalizing the names of 9 MPs, Balawati Sharma of Baglung has been selected from the Khas Arya women’s seat. Sharma is the wife of NCP leader and Davendra Paudal, who was defeated in the House of Representatives election from Nawalparasi West-2.
In Baglung, which has 2 constituencies, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) won in both constituencies. Sushil Khadka won from Baglung-1 and Som Sharma from Baglung-2.
