Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has said that the power purchase agreement (PPA) for projects with a capacity of less than 10 megawatts will be signed immediately.
Wagle made this statement while releasing the budget statement for the fiscal year 2083/084. In the current fiscal year, the then Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel had said that the PPA for run-of-river hydropower projects would be signed through take-and-pay. Since then, the PPA for projects up to 10 megawatts, which had been automatically signed, was also stopped.
