Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has said that the existing cumbersome organizational structure of government bodies will be streamlined.
The number of ministries has been reduced and accordingly, the structure will be streamlined by reducing the posts of ministries and departments, he said during his budget speech. He said that the government has adopted a policy of utilizing the money saved from the reduction of departments, offices and posts to make the administration more efficient.
Finance Minister Wagle said that 31 bodies are going to be abolished, 6 bodies merged, 6 bodies transferred and 18 bodies restructured. It has been announced in the budget that arrangements will be made to continuously increase the salaries of employees, army, police and teachers in a respectful manner.
