President of Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) Ritusingh Vaidya said that the automobile and mobility sector of Nepal is contributing significantly to the economic growth of the country and said that this sector should be given priority by the state.
Speaking at the opening session of the Naima Mobility Expo, which started on Wednesday, Chairman Vaidya said that the fact that this sector has created about 4.7 percent employment in the service sector alone . According to Vaidya, this has directly and indirectly connected thousands of Nepalis to employment in sectors such as health, tourism and financial services.
According to him, especially with the arrival of vehicles based on green technology, job opportunities based on the construction of charging infrastructure, technical training and innovation have been created.
President Vaidya said, 'We are increasing investment in skill development in collaboration with CTEVT and the Ministry of Education, using the new opportunity that has emerged with the import of electric vehicles. Naima is actively involved in the Shram Shakti Vikas Abhiyan aimed at imparting the necessary skills to the youth to make them employable. '
She said Naima has been acting as a common voice of automobile importers and manufacturers. President Vaidya says that Naima will work in the direction of providing quality services, manpower development and access to vehicles and services from cities to villages.
The Naima Mobility Expo, which started on Wednesday, will be held at the Bhrikutimanda exhibition venue in Kathmandu until the 25th. According to Naima, more than 50 brands are participating in the expo. 15 two-wheelers, 15 four-wheelers and 5 commercial new vehicles will be launched at the
expo. According to Naima, this exhibition venue has been equipped with disabled-friendly structures, improved drainage system and security and emergency services.
