The Home Minister of the coalition government, Ramesh Akhtar, who has been in the middle of appointing the governor for some time now, has claimed that the appointment of the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank will be done soon.
In a brief conversation with journalists at the Biratnagar Airport, the Home Minister said, "The appointment process has reached its final stage. It won't take much time.'
He did not want to disclose when and who will become the new governor.
He claimed that the UML-Congress consensus government will last for the full term. He added, "This government has been formed to remove hope and create hope among the people. Therefore, people's hopes and disappointments will remain until they are fulfilled.'
The Home Minister said that anti-constitutional and anti-republican activities targeting royalists will not be tolerated. "We will not tolerate any attempt to reverse the achievements made by the sacrifices of many Nepalis and lead to autocracy," he added, "the country will not return to dictatorship again, unless it wants that."
