The government is going to expand road, rail and water transport as major modes of transportation. Presenting the government's policy program for the next financial year at the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on Friday, President Ramchandra Paudel said that the expansion and development of the railways will be continued.

"Major highways will be constructed, improved and upgraded to be connected with the international road network," it is said in the government's policy and program.

It is mentioned in the policy and program that road conditions should be improved in order to reduce traffic accidents and awareness programs should be conducted targeting passengers and drivers should be developed and made responsible.
