The Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, has asked the Ministry of Energy why they are trying to remove him. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday authorized Energy Minister Deepak Khadka to ask for an explanation, giving him a chance to submit the justification within three days. In the letter sent to Ghisingh to submit an apology on 4 points, it is questioned why the contract should not be canceled and why he should not be removed from the post of executive director.
'According to which provisions of the Nepal Electricity Authority Act, 2041, what should you do? And what action was not taken by me and what should I not have done ?,' said Ghising in the letter sent by the government. Not mentioned. Therefore, the charge presented is hidden in itself.'
Ghising has said that after he took the leadership, load shedding ended, 99 percent electrification was achieved, the loss-making organization was brought to continuous profit, leakage was effectively controlled, and he managed to earn significant foreign exchange by exporting electricity to India and Bangladesh .
He has also expressed that he is saddened by efforts to discourage and punish people who should be encouraged to provide electricity services at subsidized tariff rates for having succeeded in increasing the power generation, transmission and distribution capacity by more than four times.
