A state-of-the-art information technology hub is going to be built in Charkhaal, Dillibazar, Kathmandu in a public-private partnership. Along with this, the government is preparing to build knowledge parks in Lalitpur, information technology parks in Kathmandu and Butwal.
Presenting the budget for the next fiscal year 2081/82 in the Joint House of Parliament on Tuesday, Finance Minister Varshman Pun announced that a state-of-the-art information technology hub will be built in Dillibazar. ``17 crore has been allocated for the establishment of Knowledge Park in Lalitpur's Khulmatar,'' he said.
According to Minister Pun, the work station will be operated in the technology park. He informed that IT entrepreneurs will be provided free space for three years. It was also mentioned in the next year's policy and program, which was announced on May 1, that the government will operate IT workstations.
In addition, the Minister of Finance has again said that arrangements will be made for internships in IT companies for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of information technology.
