No one can disagree that Kailash Sirohia should be investigated in the citizenship case and if he is found guilty, action should be taken according to law. Whatever the position or whatever the person, everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.

The state is free to investigate them and prosecute them if found guilty. However, the manner in which the president of the media was arrested by mobilizing the police in the prestigious media house of the country in such a way as to prejudice not only the accused person but also the common citizens is a serious matter. Those who don't like Kantipur will say it's okay. The current opposition will try to politicize it. The ruling party will put pressure on the media and try to do things in their favor. However, in the face of all these, the democracy, constitution and freedom of press and expression that we have fought for may be in danger. Therefore, we need to debate, discuss and comment so that there is no harm to the country, people, law, political democracy and freedom of press and expression. 

Even though Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi entered politics from the media sector, he never seemed to be generous towards the media sector. Even when he worked in the media, he worked far away from the general trends and ethics of the media. As a result, there was always a tug of war between him and the mainstream media. It is clear from his frequent statements that after coming to the power of the state, he digs more than necessary on the media, abuses the media and shows a kind of ego and pride. Especially after losing his position in the case of dual citizenship and passport, he went crazy and spoke threatening language against 12 Bhai media and mainly Kantipur. Remember, his double passport case is still pending in the Attorney General's office. The case has not been resolved. 

The media which has been writing against all the wrongdoings of Ravi with citizenship, passport, and especially the threatening statements made by Ravi against Kantipur and using his own party workers to file a citizenship case against Kailash Sirohia and Kantipur continuously publishing news in the cooperative case, going beyond the prevailing legal practice. Since the police arrested Sirohia, this incident can be said to be vindictive. The press and freedom of expression has been challenged by the fact that Sirohia has been arrested by the police after saying that he would cooperate with the investigation. It is necessary for the government to publish an official opinion on this matter. As far as citizenship is concerned, it is for the court to decide the truth. It will be respected by all.
