Keeping in mind the security sensitivity of the upcoming House of Representatives elections, a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has been deployed in Dolakha. For the first time, the Police Headquarters has deployed a team including an SSP in Dolakha on the basis of the security sensitivity in the elections in Dolakha. Since the elections are challenging from a security perspective, the police have been mobilized in Dolakha under the command of a high-ranking officer.
SSP Somendrasingh Rathore has been deployed in Dolakha. He is working at the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. Rathore has already reached Dolakha on Sunday.
The Police Headquarters has stated that a high-ranking officer has been deployed in the district this time for peaceful elections due to violent incidents including booth capture in previous elections in Dolakha district. The District Police Office, Dolakha is commanded by a DSP. The polling stations in the district where clashes occur on election day have been put on the list of highly sensitive and a senior police officer has been deployed there, the Police Headquarters has stated. Senior officers of the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force, including district officers, have been deployed in the area.
