In Chitwan, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party (NCP), National Independent Party (NISP), National Democratic Party (NDP), Ujjaya Nepal Party, Shram Sanskriti Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, Nepal Communist Party Maoist, Rastriya Janamorcha, and Mongol National Organization have filed their nominations in all three constituencies.
In Chitwan-2, the nomination of Ravi Lamichhane, the central president of the National Independent Party (NISP), has been filed. Chitwan-2 Assistant Returning Officer Deviram Bhandari informed that the candidacy was filed through his will. Due to the cooperative fraud case process at the Parsa District Court, he was not able to come to the office of the Returning Officer on Tuesday.
Lamichhane was first elected as an MP from this constituency in the 2079 BS election. Later, when there was a by-election in this constituency, Lamichhane was the candidate and won. This is Lamichhane's third candidacy from Chitwan-2 in a span of three years. In the previous election, the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had won in Chitwan-1 and 2.
In the 2079 BS election, Bikram Pandey of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had won in Chitwan-3. This time too, there was talk that Pandey would be the candidate from the RPP. The party had recommended his single name. But on Tuesday, Deepak Thapa Magar, not Pandey, registered his candidacy on behalf of the RPP in Chitwan-3. Renu Dahal, who resigned from the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan-3, has filed her candidacy on behalf of the NCP. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has fielded Sobita Gautam here.
