2030 June 28th. Durga Subedi was one of the characters of the incident in which the Nepali Congress hijacked a ship and seized a large amount of money to bring it from Biratnagar to Kathmandu during the armed struggle against the panchayat system. After BP Koirala realized the lack of funds for the revolution that the party was about to start, the scenario of hijacking a ship was created to get government funds.

Girija Prasad Koirala was also staying in India and handling the overall command to execute the hijacking of the ship. According to his plan, Bharu is going to be brought from Biratnagar to Kathmandu. 30 lakh aircraft was landed at Farbisgunj, India. Subedi, Basant Bhattarai and Nagendra Dhungel landed the TwinOtter plane from Biratnagar to Kathmandu in the grass field of Farbisganj and took the money to its destination. In the history of plane hijacking, Subedi, Bhattarai and Dhungel have been portrayed as the main characters. 

Subedi, one of the three front-runners in the Congress struggle, stood against Girija Prasad, the then prime minister and overall commander of the plane hijacking, in the 2051 mid-term elections. Subadi, who risked his life in the Congress movement, challenged Koirala by registering his nomination against the party's official candidate in the mid-term elections. He stood against Koirala as a rebel candidate of Congress from Morang-1. He also claimed that he would defeat Prime Minister Koirala in the mid-term elections to be held on 27 November 2051. 

Subedi's wife Sushila, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for participating in the revolution led by the Congress, has become the Prime Minister of the interim government established on the strength of the Jain-ji movement. Therefore, Karki, who is also a former Chief Justice, is being portrayed as a person from a Congress background.

During the extreme dissatisfaction within the Congress, in the mid-term elections, rebel candidates of the party were raised all over the country. Koirala became a candidate from Morang and Sunsari. Lakshmi Sahu and Krishna Sharma had given independent candidature against him in Sunsari-5 as well. Especially when the supreme leader of the party, Ganeshman Singh, announced the abandonment of the party and there were factions and sub-factions in the district/district, there was a wave of rebel candidates . Umesh Giri against Shailaj Acharya, Hari Lamsal against Vijay Gachchdar stood as a rebel candidate . In all the constituencies of Morang, rebel candidates stood up from Congress in the name of independence. Bimal Pokharel stood against Chakra Bastola in Jhapa. Surendra Chaudhary, Atram Ojha and Ramchandra Kushbah in Parsa, rebel candidates stood against Khum Bahadur Khadka in Dang. 

Especially those who are dissatisfied with Prime Minister Koirala stood as rebel candidates . When the Congress workers began to nominate candidates against the candidates near Koirala, rebels were also raised against the candidates including Chiranjeevi Wagle, known as the 36C group . In the districts of Salyan, Dhading, Banke, Kapilvastu, Jajarkot, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Dhading, rebels stood up against the official candidate of the Congress. Due to factions within the party, there was a wave of rebel candidates. In some districts, candidatures were also registered in the name of Nepali Congress Visheshwar Party. There was a wave of rebellion in Congress.
