What you should know

Matrikaprasad Koirala left the Congress in 2008. In 2017, Vishwabandhu Thapa and Tulsi Giri cheated. After 2037, Parshun Narayan Chaudhary left the Congress. Those in power have taken the advantage that they could not take in seven generations now. The former panchayat leader has become our leader.

These are the views expressed by Ganeshman Singh, a well-known Congress leader, in a program held at Birtamod in Jhapa on 15 Baisakh, 2051. He said what happened to the Congress and called the Girija Prasad Koirala-led government as the Panchayati Sanskar government. Congress had announced that if the Panchayat Sanskar government is not removed for the protection of democracy, Congress will not win the elections in the upcoming elections.

Girija Prasad said, 'This victory is also the victory of Panchas' in an open forum on 27th Chait 2046, the day after the king declared a multi-party party. After this statement of Koirala caused hooting in the assembly, Ganeshman reminded him . Four years later, Ganeshman called the Koirala-led government a government of 'Panchayati character'.

Ganeshaman, who immediately left for a tour of the eastern region when the internal strife of the Congress broke out, took the position that Girija Prasad should resign as the Prime Minister to save the Congress. He said, "When Pakistan's Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto came to visit Nepal, a conspiracy was made not to allow him to meet." When the conflict was brewing, he criticized Girija Prasad in various ways, threatening, snorting and shaking him.

In the same context, he said that if Girija does not resign, he may retire from the Congress. "Girijababu wants to run the government in an arbitrary manner, this is where we differ," said Singh. He said that when democracy is in crisis, the government is like a 'frog in the mouth of a snake'. He was of the opinion that Girija Prasad's resignation would be the solution. But Koirala, on the contrary, was holding the opinion that he was trying to destabilize the government.

"Rather than taking disciplinary action against Girija Prasad, President Krishna Prasad Bhattarai tries to cry that the party will break up, this is how the party will run?" Ganeshman said.

Raising issues such as the creation of commissions in the country, the dissatisfaction of 36 MPs of the party, and the weak organization in the districts, Ganeshman said, "The responsibility to save the Congress is now in the hands of Girija and not Bhattarai." The 'bell of sin' has been broken . In this situation, think about how long you will keep it.'

He said that he did not agree with the fact that the opposition had made the country congressional, but instead said that it was 'coalization'. From the congress in Jhapa in 2048 to the incident in January 2050 when the president Bhattarai was defeated in the by-election of Kathmandu-1, the Congress was shaken by successive internal strife. As a result, Ganeshman opposed Girija Prasad the most. His opposition spread throughout the country. He was thinking of separating from the party from time to time.

The content prepared by Chintamani Dahal from Jhapa and Shankar Kharel from Biratnagar was published by Kantipur Daily under the title 'Congress's salvation in the hands of Girija' on 16 Baisakh 2051
