Nelson Mandela, the leader of the anti-apartheid movement, is cited as an ideal political figure around the world.
After spending 27 years in prison, Mandela, who became the first president from the black community of South Africa, had planned to kill him in prison in the face of the anti-apartheid movement, but it failed.
Mandela was charged with treason in 1961, but it could not be proven. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1962 for inciting workers to strike and leaving the country without permission. But he did not stop organizing black people even in his prison life. Mandela, who has been constantly raising his voice against the oppression of blacks by the whites, spent 27 years in prison.
Mandela, who is also the leader of the African National Congress (ANCC), was released from prison with the wave of democracy spread around the world in the 1990s. He was released on 11 February 1990. Mandela became president after the National Congress won the election in the first all-race election in 1994. He became the first president from the black community on May 10, 1994.
After Mandela became president, victimized by the white community, he did not intend to take any action or enmity against the blacks who jailed him. He called upon the whites who left the country and went abroad fearing that blacks were the majority, to return to their motherland without fear and anxiety.
He said after becoming the president, 'African society, which has been suffering from racial discrimination for forty years, needs to be united.' He appealed to all religious communities and said that ANCC will bring peace and prosperity. During a visit to Cape Town's two main centers, Green and Sea Point Synagogue, Mandela said, "I want those who have left the country to come back". We need your skills .'
The National Party (NP) ruled Africa for 46 years through racial discrimination. Mandela accused the country of being trapped in the swamp of corruption during that regime. He was kept in jail for a long time on the charge of making a grand plan to overthrow the government. But he said that he will not prejudice the government and its officials who jailed him for 27 years.
Mandela said that if the NCC won the election, the accusations by religious leaders that Africans would go to war and attack the whites had been proven false. He said, 'ANCC is committed to the welfare and well-being of all the people of the nation.'
Mandela also announced that 36 judges representing 5 political parties will be sworn in. It was announced that it would include white politicians, radical white and black anti-apartheid activists, ex-freedom fighters, ex-political prisoners, intellectuals and those accused of bomb blasts.
How can politics be done without insistence and bias? How did he become everyone's role model? What is the message of his thoughts? With this reference, Kantipur published a news titled 'Mandela's Call to Whites' on May 25, 2051, focusing on Mandela's struggle for democracy and his style of governance.
