Talking to the media persons in Pokhara, the supreme leader of Nepali Congress Ganeshman Singh said, 'Now the party has reached the point of division.'

Ganeshman had already made a public statement that he was unable to stay in the party, especially due to his rift with Prime Minister Girija Prasad. A few days later, in Pokhara, he said that 36 MPs in the Congress would try to topple the government without accepting the budget submitted by the Koirala-led government. I will continue to protect democracy.'

In a meeting organized by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Kaski on 23 Baisakh, 2051, Ganeshman said that he resigned on moral grounds when the Singh Darbar burned down during the panchayat period and people died in the stadium.

His argument was that Koirala should resign from the post of Prime Minister after the court declared the Tanakpur agreement a treaty. Koirala called the 2049 agreement with India on the Tanakpur project a compromise. But after the Supreme Court interpreted the Tanakpur Agreement as a treaty, Ganeshman's argument was that he should resign as Prime Minister. He also said that he requested party president Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to take action against Koirala but he did not stop.

After the long-running controversy, accusations and misunderstandings in the party reached an extreme level, Ganeshman kept his displeasure. He complained that he did not expect anything to happen from Kisunji and said that he did not like his own party friends when they pointed out the mistakes in bringing up minor democracy.

He alleged that even Kisunji was unable to remove those who tried to eat 'Baklo Dal'. He blamed the leftists of Nepal who tasted power during the time of Krishna Prasad and still want an all-party government. Ganeshman alleged that the Communists were raising slogans of extremism.

The news prepared by Kantipur from Pokhara regarding Ganeshman's dissatisfaction and the internal strife of the Congress was published on 24th Baisakh 2051 under the title 'Congress split up only to be announced'.
