After the political change of 2046, the internal conflict within the Nepali Congress, which was leading the power, escalated to such an extent that the top leaders had only to resort to physical attacks. Disagreement between the leaders was spreading through media and public forum.

The rift between Congress Supreme Leader Ganeshman Singh and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was seen in the central convention held in Jhapa's Kalbalgudi in 2048. After that, Ganeshman had a serious disagreement with the political appointments made after the formation of the Congress government. Ganeshman objected to making Mahesh Acharya the Minister of State for Finance and Ram Sharan Mahat as the Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission saying that it broke the consensus within the party.

In this context, he pointed to Mahesh and said, "Dudhe Balak has been made Finance Minister." There was an agreement in the party not to give political appointments to those who lost the parliamentary elections. But Ganeshman accused Koirala of breaking the agreement within the party by appointing Mahat, who lost the 2048 parliamentary election from Nuwakot, as the vice-chairman of the Planning Commission.

Prime Minister Koirala was blamed for the defeat of party president Krishna Prasad Bhattarai in the vacant Kathmandu-1 parliamentary by-election after the accident of UML Secretary General Madan Bhandari's Dasdhunga. Ganeshman claimed that Koirala had lost Chairman Bhattarai through open interference. Even though more than two months have passed since the by-elections held on 25th of January 2050, the infighting between the Congress was not going to be resolved, it was becoming more and more fierce.

In the program organized by Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh in Kathmandu on the occasion of its foundation day on 6th Baisakh, 2051, Ganeshman, Prime Minister Koirala and President Bhattarai sat on the same stage and vented their anger on each other . While speaking at the program, Ganeshman took a dig at Prime Minister Girija Prasad. He made a long speech and criticized bitterly saying that the Congress cannot go along with Girija Prasad. He said, "The government and the party have not been operating according to the principles and ideals of the party."

He also warned that if the party and the government continue like this, he will gradually separate from Congress politics. He said that the government has been running wrongly since two years ago and thought that the Prime Minister should be changed . He said, "Even if Prime Minister Girija Prasad is made a 'scapegoat', the party should be saved for democracy." He said that the Congress should win 5 elections for the stability of democracy. He said, "It is appropriate for the Prime Minister to resign."

Ganeshman said that there were ideological differences, but Chairman Bhattarai said that the quarrel within the party was not all about principles. Bhattarai said, "Even if the differences of the party are evidence of vitality, they should not exceed their limits." He said that since the open market economy is the main economic movement in the world, it should be thought of how to reconcile socialism and the welfare of the poor. Pointing to Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mahat, he said to the young students, 'You should hold Mahatji and keep the Prime Minister toksi.' He considered the conflict within the party to be a battle between the stability and instability of the government. Koirala said that the Congress should not be split or disintegrated due to mutual strife and that the slogan should be ``Live together and die together''.

Local Development Minister Ramchandra Poudel said before the top leaders spoke, 'Isn't BP's prediction that there will be a conspiracy to split the leaders sitting around them?' He said that he is not walking as a man of Ganeshman, Girija and Krishna Prasad and will stay as Congress. Paudel said that the movement from 2017 to 2026 was run by the students and that the division started after the leaders were released from prison.

Speaker Damannath Dhungana said that democratic culture is lacking among the carriers of the democratic movement. Home Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that change should come in mentality and social norms. In the program, when the General Minister of the Navy Chandra Bhandari was speaking, it was said to be out-out due to commotion.

In order to moderate the hooting against Bhandari, who was standing on the stage for the welcome speech, the President of the Navy, NP Saud, who was presiding over the program, issued a loud whip to silence everyone. Due to mutual dispute, the two people also gave a welcome speech at the program organized by Navy Sangh on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee . Bhandari and the Chairman of Kathmandu District Committee gave a welcome speech.

When Bhandari's speech was heard shouting out-out from the audience, President Saud asked to cut the speech short. But when Bhandari stood on the stage, there was a rush in the hall. Especially since Bhandari was close to the Koirala party at that time, a party within the Congress was dissatisfied with the role he played in the Kathmandu-1 by-election. The result was hooting.

After the uproar did not stop, Chairman Bhattarai stood on the stage and rebuked him loudly. Then the students sat . But Ganeshman did not like Bhattarai's abuse. While speaking, he said that 'the rumors are wrong', but he took a dig at Bhattarai's reprimand and said, 'What kind of discipline has he kept his party and showing anger towards the students?' In particular, Ganeshman and some Congress MPs demanded action against Girija Prasad and the resignation of the Prime Minister.

The event of the union was made a platform to publicize the disagreements among the leaders rather than the political views of the leaders.

The news written by journalist Taranath Dahal was published by Kantipur Daily on 7th Baisakh, 2051 under the title 'Bitter criticism of government by Singh' based on the conflict within the Congress and the opinion held by the top leaders.
