Bagbazar's Padmakanya Multipurpose Campus (PK) is as popular as it is now, but in the 40s, it was more popular. Since it is a female-only college, topics ranging from the color of the dress to women's participation in higher education studies were linked to this campus. The campus was also seen as a breeding ground for women politicians. Many of today's women parliamentarians, employees, private sector leaders and policy makers have studied at PK.

During the Panchayat period, there were many government campuses in Kathmandu. The number of students was also more in the government. If someone asked where they studied, the female students there would proudly say 'PK'. After 2046, when private campuses started opening rapidly, the number of students in government campuses started decreasing .

At that time, the students of the famous Padmakanya campus in the heart of Kathmandu, where only female students studied, had to sit and study in the square. The number of students was increasing every year, but the government did not build a building, so some classes used to be conducted in square. Also, the campus building and dormitory building were damaged by the 2045 August earthquake.

Accepting the government's request to build the building, the Danish government supported 1 crore 33 lakh 76 thousand for the construction of the building of Padmakanya . About 32 years ago, the government was also happy to receive such a large amount. There were 18 rooms including classrooms, rest rooms, and meeting rooms in the Charatle building built with the said help.

The government officials said that this was the first time that the largest foreign aid was received for the physical development of the Faculty of Humanities and Sociology of Tribhuvan University.

The building was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Giriz Prasad Koirala. This building was a huge achievement for PK Cakpas. Prime Minister Koirala said that it is possible to solve all kinds of problems including poverty in the country only through the development of higher education. He said that the Danish government and the Nepalese government will try to build more structures for the Padmakanya campus. He said that the development of the country is not possible without educational development and political commitment.

The then Education, Culture and Social Welfare Minister Govindaraj Joshi informed that the government is going to make women's participation in education compulsory. The Danish Ambassador to Nepal KV Johansen said that the development of the country and society cannot happen without the inclusion of women in the decision-making process of the state. He said, "Women who are getting higher education should be supported by the men of their families." The head of the campus, Leeladevi KC, said that due to the lack of classrooms in the college with 6,000 students, the compulsion to take classes even in the library and the square has been removed with the construction of the 'Maitri Bhavan'.

The news prepared by adding reference to the Danish government's assistance to Nepal's old and female-only college, titled 'Padmakanya Campus Hatama Maitri Bhavan' was published in Kantipur on 30th of November 2050 .
