[Archive] The fate of chemical fertilizers has been the same as that of zinc for 32 years

Farmers have been telling about the problem of not getting chemical fertilizers when they want them. When fertilizers are needed in crops, supply problems are presented on one pretext or another. Panchayat, multi-party and republican political systems have never been able to facilitate the supply of fertilizers.

There are many examples of farmers having to raise slogans and rallies to get fertilizers or when they ask for fertilizers from the government, it is time to bring in the crops. In the 50s, farmers used to queue up on the streets asking for fertilizer. But he returned home empty-handed. There has not been much improvement in this situation 32 years ago.

Every agriculture minister's success/failure is connected with fertilizer supply. After the political change of 2046, the proposal to open a fertilizer factory in the annual budget of the government has been made from time to time. The political leadership also makes speeches about opening fertilizer factories from time to time.

The incident of farmers queuing up in Bhadrakali in Kathmandu three decades ago to get fertilizer is still happening now. At that time, more than 300 farmers from around the valley of Kathmandu were queuing up at Bhadrakali to get fertilizer. At that time, the Agricultural Materials Institute, which supplies fertilizers, issued notices that they were unable to supply fertilizers on various pretexts .

Farmers from Nuwakot, Dhading, Kavre, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa and other districts near Kathmandu used to stand in line at the common shop that distributes fertilizer. He used to stand in line in the morning, after not getting stool in the evening  He used to return home . The staff refused saying that the manure did not come from above . Sometimes it was said that the transportation could not be carried out due to the damage of the road and sometimes it was said that it could not be distributed due to the small amount of fertilizer.

Incidents of irregularities in fertilizer supply have also been made public. But the situation for farmers to get fertilizer easily has not yet been created . But even after three decades, the compulsion to publish news about the same problem has not gone away.

Kantipur Dainik published a news on 22nd of August 2050 under the title of 'Hundreds of Farmers Gathering in Bhadrakali' regarding the issue of farmers not getting fertiliser.

32 years have passed since the news was published, but the problems raised by the farmers are still there. Farmers are still wandering for fertilizer. Many governments have been formed in 32 years but every government has failed to supply fertilizer on time .
