Now water has stopped coming from the stream of Sundhara. During the construction of the commercial building of the Employees' Provident Fund, which was started in 2044, the local residents estimated that the source of water coming from Sundhara was very low 32 years ago. At that time, although the source decreased, the water was not completely shut off.

But due to the garbage piled up around the stream, the water could not drain and the local people could not consume it . Everyone understood that the water source had dried up while digging the foundation of the building of Sancha Kosh .

Locals were using Sundhara water even though the source was low. But at that time, Kathmandu's waste management was very challenging. In that too, the problem of sewage management was visible everywhere.

Due to the garbage in the sewer, the water was blocked and the water could not be pumped into the Sundhara. Streams were about to be flooded with dirty water . At that time, among the residents of Kathmandu, people around Sundhara used to drink water from that stream, bathe and wash their clothes.

Due to the opposition of the locals, the building of the savings fund was not completed and the source of water was also decreasing . There were sayings that Sundhara should be preserved as a heritage. In the same vein, the Nepal Heritage Association suggested organizing a discussion in Bhadrakali to find out the reason for the drying up of the water in Sundhara.

It was assumed in the discussion that the water had dried up due to the construction of many buildings. The then Mayor of Kathmandu Municipality, PL Singh, made a commitment to protect Sundhara. Sundhara was so dirty that those who went to clean it were scared.

Especially after the establishment of the multi-party system, there were occasional shutdowns and even strikes on the issue of garbage in Kathmandu . It was reported that there was no garbage in Kathmandu Valley. Sundhara also fell victim to it .

Kantipur Dainik published a news prepared by the correspondent covering the issue of water supply in Sundhara, a heritage of historical and archeological importance, problems in its management and fountains in Kathmandu Valley.
