Chandrashamsher built a white road to bring salt from Bhot (Tibet). The old people of that time used to tell the memories of the journey of bringing salt from Bhot. From Goretto built by Chandrashamsher, Nepalese from Kathmandu used to reach Tibet (Bhot) via Sankhu, Chautara, Jalvere, Tatopani.
Especially Goretto Sankhu-Chowtara, which surrounds Kathmandu before the Araniko highway connecting the border with China, is also one of them. Until 2024, the residents from Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap to Solukhumbu used to leave Bhaktapur on foot from Lamosanghu via Panchkhaal Rabiopi, while those going to Tibet from Kathmandu used to walk through Sankhu, Chautara and Jalveer. From Sankhu-Chautara Goreto, it was used to reach Lhasa in Tibet (far from Bhot).
vs. In the year 2025, the Kodari road connecting China to Tatopani through Kathmandu-Banepa was built. After the construction of the highway, the warter system was started by entering from Tatopani pass and giving goods to Tibet. That is, goods were exchanged .
The plan to connect the road from Sankhu to Chautara to Jalveer Bhot was made after the change of 2046. A plan was made to connect the road leading to Chautara through Phatakeshwar of Sankhu-Sindhupalchok, a historical market in the northeast of the valley, to Arani Highway. Kathmandu and Sindhupalchok District Development Committee started the initiative to build this road. The first section Sankhu-Phatkeshwar 19 km and the second section Melamchi-Chautara about 28 km road was planned.
For the first phase of road construction, the road construction was started by the consumer committee consisting of MPs Dhruvaram Bhandari and Baburam Nakarmi and Jiwis presidents of Sindhupalchok and Kathmandu respectively Chandralal Shrestha and Tirtha Bahadur KC . For the construction of the first section, a consumer committee consisting of Kathmandu Region No. 1 MP and UML General Secretary Madan Kumar Bhandari and Kathmandu JIS President Narayan Dhakal was also formed. The committee alleged that there was politics in the construction of the road.
After the road reaches Phatakashila, there is a dispute between Sindhu and Kathmandu residents about which direction the road should take. The Congress appointed a central representative to settle the dispute. Based on the report given by Haribol Bhattarai, the representative appointed by the party, the work was advanced so that the road would be suitable for connecting to Phatakeshwar.
Especially if the said road is built, it was expected to connect Helambu, Sindhupalchok Headquarters Chautara and Arani Highway with Kathmandu. Kantipur Dainik published this news on June 19, 2050, which was prepared to highlight the political intrigue and its importance.
