I have no other skills except sewing shoes. I made this skill and Butwal's traffic chowk road a dream of income for life. I am still enjoying it. When I started the business, the road and Butwal have completely changed now. Along with age and youth, my life also gradually changed.

I made my son a veterinary doctor by cutting off his shoes at the traffic intersection. Married three daughters. Built a house in Kachhariya village of Bariapur . I have also added a clock. After all, everyone is happy. I am also happy with my work and earnings.

The road which was single when I started the business became four lanes and now it is expanding to six lanes . At the square where I started my business, now hundreds of vehicles pass every hour . It's amazing to see the road changing. The path changed form . The intersection of the same road has also driven my life, maybe it will still drive it! The heavy shoemaking of my work and the hard road is . The city police are sometimes sad. I'll keep driving until I can drive . I will stay here until I get it. If they don't let me stay, I will go back to the house in Kachhariya village that I made with my earnings.

Until 10 years ago, there were 16 people in the traffic chowk who sewed shoes like me. Along with the shape of the square and road, time has also changed a lot . How many friends who worked together have changed. Someone got chased . Some left the profession . Man's fashion is growing . Since there are no people who sew shoes on the road, the people who sew shoes are decreasing. The state has not been able to protect the business of sewing old shoes . Assists other professionals by teaching money and skills . However, it does not help our profession . So now the people who do this profession are decreasing .

Around the year 2044, Butwal's traffic square was very busy and the main square. So I chose it . When I started working here, there was no one working on the streets as a cobbler . Later, as the roads and settlements increased, they continued to be added. At that time the road was small . Only two vehicles were running. One would go, the other would come . People used to walk a lot, sew a pair of shoes three to four times and wear them for two years . It's not like that now sir . People buy new ones every month and throw away the old ones . The era of sewing/making is gone. 38 years ago, one hundred rupees was earned from 10 customers in a day, but now it is not so.

I came here 38 years ago from Mahagadhimai Municipality-1, Bariapur Kachahariya tol of Bara. I was 29 years old at that time. I came to Butwal in 2044 with my two sons and wife Bhagmati Devi. When I came here, I didn't know anything except the skill of sewing shoes taught by my father . Even now, there is nothing more coming. I worked for some time . However, the livelihood did not go on. After that, I have been sewing shoes as my father taught me in the main traffic square of Butwal. Now I am 68 years old. It has been 37 years since this business started at Traffic Chowk.

I eat at 8 in the morning and come from the camp to the traffic square . I pack the goods and start customer service . I must earn 1000 to 2000 a day . In the morning, I leave the camp with that thought. Because, I have to pay 200 rupees per day as rent . 200 is spent on footwear. Rice, vegetables, tea, food, gas, electricity, water spend up to 800 rupees daily. If wife, children or any other guests come, it will cost even more . Now I am alone in the camp . So 7/800 rupees will cover the cost of food . Earning 2000 saves 1000 . Otherwise 6 to 800 rupees will always be saved .

The amount saved should be sent to Bariapur for household expenses. His wife is staying there. The son studied medicine (veterinary technology) and started a small shop . But, it doesn't work much . So I have to send money from here . Two daughters are married. The marriage debt is due to be paid . Even at home, I spend 20/25 thousand rupees every month. So I will do this as long as I can. I am thinking of going back to Bariapur the next day.

I am still enjoying my skills. If you learn to save your earned money, you don't have to worry about others. Happiness is within oneself. The happiness that is given by one's own earnings is not equal to what others give for free . Even if you earn little, you should learn to save . I tell my children the same thing, 'earning a little is nothing, learn to save, only after enjoying your own life will you live a lot .' All works are good. However, people's attitude towards some jobs and skills is just bad.
