Now I am 68 years old. I live alone at home. It has been 7 years since Mrs. Chumkumari Bhandari passed away. He had rheumatic problems. Even though I was taken to Butwal for treatment, I could not be cured.

I have two sons and one daughter . Son and daughter live in Butwal. I live in Dhurkot Rural Municipality-5 Gantari . After being alone at home, the son and daughter are trying to take him to the city . But I am here because I want to live in the village. I don't want to go to the city . Gharkhet feels love, it seems to say not to leave .

Even if you are alone at home, it is not so much to stay. I spend my time working . I have raised a buffalo. The buffalo will give birth on July 20. I am sitting on it by cutting grass and dung. I also raised a cow. Not being able to keep cows now, I gave them to someone else. Now I have raised only buffalo.

I used to live at home with my grandparents . When I was studying in class 8, I dropped out of school because I started playing guleli while studying. After starting to live separately, something had to be done . Then I developed my childhood skills as a profession . The skills I learned from Gulli reached the point of preparing various wooden materials.

Now I have made and sold plows and yokes ranging from 200 rupees to 1500 rupees. Apart from this I also prepare other materials made of wood including Madani, Lathi, Neti, Khok and Namlo . I used to prepare it first and sell it later. The demand in the market gradually decreased. Since then I have started preparing wooden materials only if there is a demand.

According to the list I have prepared, it is up to 500 rupees . I prepare a list in two days . A stick costs up to 1,200 rupees. Plows and yokes are sold for up to 1,500 rupees.

From this profession, I have been doing household chores, teaching children and health treatment. Now household expenses are running better than income.

I have also cultivated corn and rice in the farm . Annually, 15 quintals of corn, 30 quintals of rice, 8 quintals of wheat and 15 quintals of potatoes are produced. I consider this product worth my sweat. This year, I also sold a few cucumber, ghirula, gourd and bitter gourd plants . This has also helped the household expenses to some extent.

has become a means of spending time in the village and running the household expenses . The income is at least one and a half lakh rupees in a year . There is not much accounting. That too 1 lakh rupees is spent on investment. Other money will cover household expenses . The rice of the house has reached to eat rice . I have sold some amount of rice, corn, wheat and potatoes. I will sell the rest when I get home . Therefore, household expenses are not that big. I don't have that kind of expenditure on clothes.

It has been 30 years since he started making wooden materials. He has not gone anywhere after saying abroad . I remember going to Sunauli to carry salt. If not I haven't gone further than that . I am satisfied in the village. The skill learned in time has now become a household expense and a means of spending time . It seems that some skills are necessary.

Now the use of such materials as plows, juwa, madani, wooden sticks, neti, namlo and guleli is gradually decreasing . In the city, these materials are no longer recognizable. But in the village, even though it is light, it has been used.

Our latest generation does not learn such skills . Although this is not a professional occupation, skills are needed. You don't have to starve if you have skills. Some skill is required . No matter what, skills are needed, a person who has learned skills is never left behind . Skills are neither small nor big. Honing of skills is essential .
