Time has changed now. Everything is modern. There is no such thing as before. After the people of the city bought clothes and stopped sewing clothes . The era of ready-made has come. They go to the store, look for fitting clothes and bring them . My machine can't sew the way people want to sew these days . Various machines are available in the market. But, I can't purchase . I don't even have an interlock, nor an iron . Saving money and buying a new iron has not been completed. 

I was born in Dharampur-6 Rupnagar of Saptari. Now I am 66 years old. Studied up to 5th grade in the village school. Being born in a normal family, he could not read much. At that time, there was no one who insisted on studying . I started sewing clothes after thinking that I must learn a skill to make a living. Again, he was fond of this work from a young age. With age, this skill was learned and worked . Now this skill has worked even in old age .

Mechinagar-7, I have built a small house with 3 rooms on 7 Dhurjati land in Ayabari . Our son, daughter-in-law, one grandson and one granddaughter are living there . His wife passed away 14 years ago. The son goes to Virtamod to work, the daughter-in-law works at home. I also arrive at this Itabatta city around 7 am . In the evening, I take out the machine and start sewing the old clothes brought by people . I shut down the machine around 6 pm and head home.

is not earning like before. Established and new tailors have opened in the city. That's where people go. Two and a half hundred rupees are earned a day . The market is closed on Saturday, so there is no profit on Saturday. However, this is the income that lives on . Paddy, rice, vegetables, marmalade should be bought and eaten. A bag of 25 kg of rice costs 1800 rupees. It is difficult to reach even one month . There is a separate cost for vegetables, marmasala. As the son also earns, he has helped in household expenses.

A man who sews clothes himself, but it's been years since he bought new clothes and wore them. When I get some money, I go to Panitanki (a border town in India) and buy pants costing 50-60 rupees, shorts costing 40-50 rupees. I have my own machine, if it is big, I will reduce it and install it. Stomach hurts a lot, what happened ? Can't even check properly . Even now, you have to tie your stomach while working, otherwise it will hurt .

Every now and then I go to the drug store in the city and get the drug . By eating and drinking like this, you can earn 3-4 thousand paise a month. However, it is your body, you have to eat it. Dhan government has given allowance, 8000 amount comes from allowance in three months . This amount of allowance has been like a boon to the families of us Dalits, who are also working like this. I am saving little by little money from this allowance, I want to make a lot of money one day and show it to a good doctor .
