The United States easily defeated Namibia by 31 runs on Sunday in the Twenty20 World Cup 2026. This was the second win for the United States in the Group A match held in Chennai.

Chasing a target of 200 runs to win, Namibia could only score 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. The victory gave the US four points.

Namibia, on the other hand, remained at zero points after their third consecutive defeat and their challenge in the tournament is over. For Namibia, Lauren Steenkamp scored 58 runs off 39 balls, which was the highest score. It included 5 fours and 3 sixes. Jan Nicol and JJ Smith scored 28 and 26 runs respectively. American bowler Sadli Vann, who was in form, took two wickets for 17 runs.

The US had won the toss and elected to bat first and in the process, they scored 199 runs for the loss of four wickets. This performance was sustained by Sanjay Krishnamurthy's 68 runs. He scored runs in 33 balls with the help of four fours and six sixes. Similarly, opener and captain Monank Patel also scored 52 runs in 30 balls. He also hit three fours and three sixes.
